About us
A brief company portait of MGI WEIGHBRIDGES
About us
MGI Weighbridges your partner in abnormal load Weighing, Sizing and E-Permit printing.
Our A/V weighbridges in the Ports of Richards Bay and Durban, together with our roving Mobile Weighing Units, make MGI the largest and most widely accessible abnormal load weighing capability in South Africa and the Region.
Our history
MGI Weighbridges your partner in abnormal load weighing, sizing and E-permit printing.
Since 2017 MGI Weighbridges have been weighing abnormal load combinations ranging from 16 tons – 850 tons Gross Combination Mass (GCM).
Our first abnormal load weighbridge in Richards Bay has been joined by a second in the Port of Durban – now fully operational.
Vision
MGI Weighbridges your partner in abnormal load Weighing, Sizing and E-permit printing.
MGI’s Vision is to be the industry leader in abnormal load weighing – revolutionizing both the weighing process as well as streamlining the related services required for abnormal load transportation in South Africa and the SADC region.
MGI Weighbridges own and operate weighbridges specifically designed to weigh abnormally large loads. We work between Abnormal Load Transporters and Transport Authorities to both facilitate and help streamline the weighing and permitting of abnormal load combinations.
Not only the “first line of defense” in preserving national road and bridge infrastructure – the backbone of economic growth and development in Africa – MGI weighbridges have been designed to minimise the time required to weigh an abnormal load – reduced from days and hours to barely minutes – thereby reducing standing time and demurage costs for abnormal load transporters in the Ports.
Our weighbridges have E-Permit printing capabilities – eliminating the cost and time for transporters to travel long distances to collect A/V Permits.
